Abstract

Stress executesan effect on the organism when the individual is going through a situation under pressure, manifesting a feeling of anxiety orirritability in which he shows emotionaly instability, the family and the patient constitute the treatment unit, so the informal caregiver plays an important role, because without the support of the same it would be impossible to correct home palliative care. Its responsibility acquires relevance as the disease progresses, not only for direct patient care, but for its role in family reorganization, main tenance and cohesion. Objectives: To know the levels of stress presented by the primary caregiver, Identify the psycho-affective and physiological areas that affect the primary caregiver, determine who are the main ones involved in palliative care. Methods: quantitative research, is a bibliographic documentary, observational, cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive study, a reviewn study of scientific articles indexed in journals such as Latindex, Scopus, Dialnet, Redalyc, Scielo, Medline, Psychological Abstracts, PsycInfo, Redinet, Psicodoc, among others. Results: Caregivers have much higher levels of stress than people who are not caregivers, theaffected areas are the economy, the psychic and physical health of the caregiver, the main caregivers being the closes family, such as parents, spouses and sons. Conclusions: the stress levels presented by the primary caregiver are high, their symptoms are usually anxiety, depression and Bornau syndrome. The main ones involved in palliative care are the close trelatives, including parents, children and siblings. This situation causes them, in many cases, a situation of chronic stress causes physical and emotional wear and can lead to serious physical illness.
